Welcome to the The Sisters Restaurants two of Glasgow's finest family run eateries.
The Sister's now have restaurants in the heart of Glasgow's West End at Kelvingrove and just off Crow Road at Jordanhill. The two Glasgow Restaurants offer two great atmospheres, both with fantastic food to offer.
The Sisters are having a birthday party this year, we have became teenagers... Well as restaurateurs that is!
The famous Glasgow Sisters Jacqueline & Pauline O'Donnell first opened their doors to feed the locals 13 years ago, from the quirky saying from back then "Big sis cooks Wee sis serves" now as you can imagine there is a bit more help. However that is the only thing as the menus have kept the same theory Jacqueline prides herself in being a traditional ambassador for cooking bringing together dishes that your Gran might have put on the table... It may taste slightly better but don't tell Grannie I said that!
Pauline is the wee sis come in for a chat and experience the warm hospitality that you receive which has rubbed off on our of our team after all these years working with us. 13 years ago a chance meeting with a guest at a dinner party that Big sis Jacqueline was catering for. In those days it was £10 a head for food service & cleaning up, its went up a wee bit since then!
It has been a hard however rewarding time. We have met over the years so many regulars who have now become friends and every day the buzz of working in hospitality seems to always have story attached most people now
say going to eat at The Sisters is like going to a long lost friends house with a warm welcome from the host to cosy dining and superb simple Scottish food.
Our scallops & langoustines are landed on Thursday at the pier in Ullapool and Mark has them in the restaurant half way through service he evens shells the scallops for me (when I ask nicely).
Our meat suppliers range from Davie our farmer in Galloway for the best in Scotch Lamb we source the best Scotch beef the land offers and being a member of the Scotch Beef club keeps our roots strong in caring about the welfare & quality of all the beef that comes into the restaurants.
he two different styles can be noted in each of the Sisters Jordanhill is cosy and rustic with exposed stone walls and a slight nod to modern Scottish interior using Brown Watch tartan as our fabric which blends well with random plank Elm wood sourced from around Scotland and polished to add a warm hue around this cosy local eaterie, whether its a quick glass of chilled of sauvignon blanc with a hot steaming bowl of Plockton Langoustines & Shetland mussels at the bar or a sit down meal with room to polish off a pudding or 2 or even if you just want to pop in for coffee come along and see The Sisters Jordanhill.
Sisters kelvingrove Same great food same menu with just a few tweeks here and there, modern Black white & charcoal with Douglas Grey tartan this time beautiful hand painted images from Popular Scottish artist Phillip Raskin adorn the walls like a moody storm on the West Coast with a warm fire just to give that wee glow that the Sisters always manage to create.
