About Us

After 12 years as a pastry chef I decided to try my hand at private dining when you could hire my sister & I for as little as £10/hd and we would come to your home cook & serve for you & your guests then we would CLEAN UP what a bargain you got in those days!!

That’s how the Sister story began, we have now been operating for 8 years and still love it. It does take determination & hard work but the buzz from a great night’s service and a lot of happy customers makes it all worth while.

We did our “apprenticeship” in a wee place in Glasgow’s West End for 4 years we by then had grown out of that site and needed to expand so we found a new location hidden shall we say!! But “worth finding” they say. Reputation not location was definitely what we needed and quickly settled in at our new home.

Jacqueline & Pauline and their team have developed a homely welcoming local eaterie, for years we have worked with Scotland’s larder to give our customers and now a lot of our friends a taste of real Scotland in the middle of Glasgow, Our scallops & langoustines are landed on Thursday at the pier in Ullapool and Mark has them in the restaurant half way through service he evens shells the scallops for me (when I ask nicely).

My gamekeeper Fergie & son John are wonderful guys they even play there fiddles for us from time to time as well as bringing me the best wild venison that Ardnamurchan has to offer.

Pudding well hopefully you can save some room through all the homemade bread & oatcakes that we start with right up until we polish you off with the infamous Puff candy meringue.

If homely and hidden does not suit you how about the new edition to the Sisters family Sisters Kelvingrove at Kelvingrove street back to the West end this time with a modern twist the stark comparison of interiors from warm rustic browns & greens to modern Black white & charcoal with a warm fire just to give that wee glow that the Sisters always manage to create.

Same great food same menu just a more modern approach to the interior also with our own private dining table slightly separate to the main dining area this can be sectioned off for private meetings or dining to private parties up to 6-9 diners.

Jordanhill's private dining area can host from 6-8 diners.

Suppliers

I take great pride in sourcing the best suppliers and who now are all friends and indeed regular diners at the Sisters.

Fish & shellfish:

Creel Caught also known as Mark the fish man.

Lands my scallops & langoustines late in the afternoon in Ullapool then drives to Glasgow where he shells my scallops(because I asked nicely) and the finest west coast creel caught langoustines that Glasgow can offer… normally associated with pier side dining in the North of Scotland where the wee fisherman passes you with a basket of prawns flicking away.

Corrigan’s

Supply all my other fish & shellfish as well as supplying both the Sisters and other top restaurants & hotels in Scotland you can go to their outlet in Howard Street if you’re up early! And get some great fresh fish at great prices.

Mclays Wallace

Fruit & vegetables:

Clyde Fruit & Vegetables

Angus McLeod is a good friend of ours he has recently branched out on his own after generation of McLeod’s looked after the fruit market he supplies both places with all of the daily fruit & vegetables as well as the hard to source ingredients.

Arran Organic Supplies

When the sun shines over the Isle of Arran Robin supplies me with the best tasting beetroot ever... Also his wild rocket & leaves are great not too mention the courgette flowers are beautiful in the summer.
